Winter vacation and I'm off to Hawaii. Figured it was time to get away from the cold and the rain and get into the warm and the sun!
Over the next 7 days, I'll try to provide a glimpse of my experience, seeing as how I've never been to Hawaii before. I start with the facts: 7 days in Waikiki. My parents, sister, and myself. Air Canada Vacation Package.
An early wake up brought about by my procrastination in packing. I figure tshirts and shorts aren't too difficult to pack. Soon we travel to the YVR airport to begin the jouney. We arrive at the airport in plenty of time. Although we're flying Air Canada and I really don't like that airline, the check in clerk was friendly and cheerful. A nice change. Especially when that is followed up with the not so friendly security and customs and immigration personnel.
Finally make it through the maze of safety only to learn that the flight is delayed an hour or so. Oh well, c'est la vie. After ruining the diet with burger king, we were in the plane. (BK is bad, but sooo good at the same time).
The flight was a standard Air Canada flight: movie didn't work for the first hour. Food costs money. No employee smiled. Would it really kill them to have a little fun at work? I think they could learn a little about customer service from Westjet.
